Support the Next Generation of Tech Leaders: Volunteer as a Technovation Girls MA Mentor or Judge

Are you interested in developing the next generation of business leaders and entrepreneurs? What about getting more young girls excited about tech? Technovation 2021 is under way, and the MassTLC Ed Foundation needs volunteers like you to serve as mentors and judges for this annual event.

Global Tech Entrepreneurship Competition for Girls

Technovation Girls, a flagship program of non-profit Technovation, is the world’s largest global tech entrepreneurship competition for girls. Every year, Technovation Girls challenges 10 to 18 year old girls to build a business plan and mobile app that will address a community problem. Since 2009, over 50,000 girls have participated from over 100 countries.

Technovation Girls Massachusetts—the regional round of Technovation Girls—serves all girls aged 10-18 across Massachusetts and is run by the MassTLC Ed Foundation. The Ed Foundation recruits members of the tech community to support teams on a volunteer basis.

Applications for volunteer mentors are open now. You do not need to be a technology professional to be a mentor, but you should be comfortable saying, “I don’t know, let’s find out together.”

If you’d like to be involved, but are unable to make this time commitment, consider becoming a Technovation Girls judge. Judges review and score online the work of 3-5 Technovation Girls teams. Applications for judges will open on March 29th – stay tuned for more info.

Technovation is always a great program, and we hope you can help us make this year’s edition the best one yet! If you have any questions or would like more information, contact Sara Fraim at sara@masstlc.org.
