MassTech Intern Partnership Makes Summer Intern Funding Available to Growing Tech Companies

Are you part of a technology company headquartered in Massachusetts with fewer than 100 employees? If you answered yes to all of these questions, then your company is eligible for funding from the MassTech Intern Partnership, a statewide initiative supported by the Baker-Polito Administration and the Massachusetts Legislature, that provides stipends for directly to support Massachusetts college and graduate students. All interns must be compensated as employees, not contractors, with required payroll withholdings.

How it works:

Companies can be reimbursed for up to 50% of the intern’s hourly wage up to $8 per hour for a total of $3,200/year per individual intern.

MTIP will accept applications in two phases:

  1. March 17 – March 31, 2021: MTIP will be open to applications from eligible tech companies in five priority focus areas – Cybersecurity, Digital Health, Fintech, Internet of Things (IoT), and Robotics.
  2. April 1 – June 30, 2021: MTIP will be open to applications from all eligible tech companies.

This year, eligible companies in the priority focus areas of Cybersecurity, Digital Health, Fintech, Internet of Things (IoT) and Robotics, may apply for up to 3 interns per program period.
