1. Why Boston?
I came to Boston in 2006 to attend MIT. The city is obviously home to lots of universities and a lot of intellectual capacity, but one of the things my husband and I were most attracted to was the entrepreneurial ecosystem. I realized Boston was a great place to start my company because of the many female entrepreneurs in the city, and the huge network of innovators in the greater Boston area.

2. In the past few months, what is the smallest change you made that had the biggest positive result?    

At Pixability, we started Pix Picnic. Every Monday, we cater lunch, and there’s only one rule: you’re not allowed to eat at your desk. The results have been tremendous. People look forward to Mondays because they get free food. Everybody has a chance to mingle, to talk, to get away from their desks. It’s done wonders for people mingling across functions, and it’s so simple: all we have to do is order lunch. 


3. If you could have a beer with anyone (dead or alive) who would it be?    

Steve Jobs. I know he was a complicated personality but I find his life’s journey and how he accomplished building Apple fascinating. I would have liked to meet him and pick his brain on entrepreneurship as he saw it.


4. What book do you think everyone on your team should read?    

Thinking Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman. It tells you a lot about how humans form their opinions, how they make decisions, how everyday biases form our perceptions of the world. After you read it, you can actually make decisions in a much more rational fashion, when you understand how your brain processes information, and how you arrive at decisions. It helps you question decisions, and make better decisions for yourself and the company.
