The Founder Lab

The Founder Lab is for founders first.

MTLC is building a dedicated working space designed for founders and their teams to build, execute, and connect with peers who want to see more companies scale and stay in Massachusetts.

We believe founders are creating tech companies in Boston at one of the most exciting moments in a decade, with massive opportunity hiding inside a rapidly shifting macroeconomic landscape. Capital is focused and intentional, rewarding the most compelling teams and ideas. AI is supercharging product roadmaps and opening entirely new possibilities, while top talent is actively seeking meaningful work and flexible environments—and is ready to rally behind leaders who deliver both. And this region offers an unparalleled foundation: world-class universities, seasoned operators, and an elite technical bench.

What we need is a more consistent, founder-centric infrastructure where founders can step out of pitch mode, compare notes safely with peers, and get practical support from people who understand both the massive opportunity and the acute strain of building here. This is why MTLC is launching The Founder Lab.

We are bringing this vision to life physically in the heart of the ecosystem.

Hosted inside Akamai’s Cambridge space in Kendall Square, The Founder Lab is engineered specifically for early-stage B2B technology companies past the idea stage. We are intentionally keeping this community small and highly curated so conversations remain candid and immediately useful. Instead of passive panels or presentations, gatherings are structured as active working sessions with peers and direct access to experienced operators from MTLC’s wider network. You can expect to leave each session with a concrete operational decision you can test in your business that same month.

An invitation to ecosystem partners

For corporate sponsors and ecosystem partners who care about the future of New England tech, this is an opportunity to deeply integrate with the people building it. You’ll gain early visibility into emerging companies, direct feedback from founders, and a closer line of sight into where the ecosystem is really headed.

Supporting The Founder Lab means more than buying a branding package. It means standing beside founders as they navigate hard funding decisions, team architectural shifts, and responsible innovation, and listening closely enough to adjust your own services and investments in response. We work with our partners to design a collaborative presence that feels highly tactical to founders and deeply aligned with your strategic goals.
