Uncertainty Principle: AI, Quantum, and the Tools Reshaping Work

September 3 @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This Thursday addresses the uncertainty that many of us face right now. AI is rewriting how we work, quantum computers are creeping into real conversations about security and trust, and the tools shaping our future keep changing faster than anyone can track. Let’s lean in together so that we’re learning information for better decisions tomorrow. It’s a packed night!

We begin with our flagship Connection Collider, the beating heart of the space where unplanned conversations spark real ideas. Look for a number of activations over the course of the night. For new attendees or if you need a refresher, join How to Venture Café at 4:40 PM in the Havana Room to learn how to make the most of this space. In the Intermezzo Room, Chuck Goldstone offers one-on-one Office Hours to sharpen your story, with early slots reservable in advance.

At 5:30 PM in the Octave Room, the MIT Museum Store Roundtable invites local makers to brainstorm new retail ideas rooted in MIT/Cambridge culture. In the Sonata Room, join Stephanie Roulic for Startup Boston Week: Plan Your Week as she helps you get ready for five days of programming this September.

At 5:00 PM in the Havana Room, considering sole proprietorships to S-corps and C-corps, Phil Slabine and Lisa Athansia, accountants at Not Dorks, will walk founders through entity formation and tax basics.

Concurrently in the Santo Domingo Room, the session Workplace Transformation in the AI Era brings an interactive discussion, using the historic Luddite movement as a lens, on what worker power looks like in the age of intelligent machines. Join experts Lauren Mecca and Erica Favorito for this dynamic exploration.

Then at 6:00 PM in the Havana Room, meet Kavya Hanisha with her session Scaling Agentic AI on Dell and NVIDIA Infrastructure to tackle what it actually takes to build agentic AI that holds up at scale.

Concurrently in the Santo Domingo Room, join experts Max Radin, Victor Kerros, and Jonathan Olson for Breaking and Recovering Trust as they explore quantum computing’s double-edged relationship with blockchain security.

See? With so many important topics to explore, join us for this week’s Thursday Gathering! Stay professional, Cambridge: you’re here to thrive!
