Tell us about your role and your company.  What does your company do, what does your team focus on, and what part of that work are you most excited about right now?

We design and develop B2B websites and provide digital marketing services for our clients. My team focuses on client management, new business development, and agency marketing. I’m drawn to this industry because it’s constantly evolving and continuously presents new opportunities to learn and grow. I am most excited about the evolution of marketing. We can now leverage AI’s potential in our work and turn our focus to research and insights, which, in turn, will allow us to spearhead more strategic initiatives that our clients love partnering with us on.

Can you share the key steps in your career journey so far?  What were the pivotal moments that led you here?  Have you had mentors along the way and how did they impact your career?

There have been so many key steps throughout my career; as one door closed, others opened. I graduated with an environmental science degree, and while that is still near and dear to my heart, I fell into advertising by working at Mullen. In 1999, the internet started to grow in popularity, and while I didn’t know much about it, I saw it as the future, so I pivoted my role from print to digital.

I grew up in the industry by producing many digital projects for top consumer brands. I learned a lot along the way and have used that to shape my experience as an agency leader and business strategist.

What challenges or opportunities in the technology industry are you most engaged with today? How does your work connect to those trends?

In marketing, one of the biggest challenges is doing more with less. My goal is to always be on the team you would never kick off the bench, because we provide too much value to lose. Digital is highly quantifiable, so we can easily show business impact with real results to clients. We use our success stories to build trust with prospects and clients. We know that we’ve done this before and can do the same for any client (we have proof!)

Digital agencies need to contend with AI in almost every area of work. We must strike a balance between what AI can accomplish and the role of people. Smart AI use should allow human talent to spend more time thinking and strategizing to deliver top results.

How have you been involved with MTLC and what has been most valuable to you so far?  (Programs, events, connections, insights, speaking, advising, partnering, etc.)

I have been very involved with MTLC for the past five years. We work with many B2B technology companies, and it has been a great way to make connections and learn more about the industry. MTLC also allows me a platform to share thought leadership with a larger community of peer businesses, advancing digital as a whole.

Outside of your day-to-day work, what interests you or motivates you professionally?  What’s something others might not know about you or your approach to your work?

I am a serial exerciser. I do this to reduce stress, perform better, and keep my head clear. I love being active, whether it is a workout on my Peloton, at the gym, or walking on the beach with our puppy. Being in nature is a great way to stay connected to everything around you. I recently committed to taking my dog on more hikes, which makes both of us happy. Mental and physical wellness is important to me because it sets me up for success as a leader.
