Cross-Border Innovation & Business

Recap of October 16 Robotics Seminar. By Joyce  Sidopoulos, Manager, MassTLC Robotics Cluster
More than 35 robotics enthusiasts attended our October 16 seminar.
Thanks to B-Temia, RxRobotics and Redtree Robotics we learned about
exoskeletons for medical and military operations, humanoid robots for pediatric
pain management and a chip set that lets you easily connect sensors, actuators,
components and other parts to the robot without the hassle of complicated
circuits, specialized hardware or device drivers.  Following the technology presentations, James
De Vellis, patent lawyer from Foley & Lardner, discussed the challenges and
considerations for entrepreneurs doing business across the border.  He was joined by Dr. Jill Becker and Dr.
George “Buzz” Kennedy for an open discussion on cultural differences, IP
considerations, fund raising, and finding clients and talent.
Moderator James De Vellis with Dr. Jill Becker and
                                 Dr. George “Buzz” Kennedy.
Thanks to IBM Innovation Center for hosting and to our event sponsor, The Canadian Consulate.
