Tuan Ho, CEO and co-founder of MassTLC member ScholarJet, spoke with Forbes recently on his experiences as a Vietnamese immigrant and living “the American dream.”
Ho’s American Dream
Tuan Ho came to the United States from Vietnam in 2005 when he was 10 years old with his mother and brother, looking for a better life. Thrust into an abusive situation with his stepfather in Dorchester, Massachusetts, Ho began looking for a way out.
“I was a prisoner in my home and school was my only escape,” Ho wrote in an essay years later to apply for a college scholarship. “So I threw all my efforts into learning English in order to save my family. I realized that I needed to arm myself with the right knowledge and tools in order to escape my hell.”
