Boston Climate Week at Venture Café Cambridge

May 5 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Boston Climate Week comes to life at Venture Café Cambridge on Thursday, May 7, unfolding as an evening shaped by movement, conversation, and connection. Beginning at 3:45 PM with the Connection Collider featuring Klymatrix, a startup focusing on the proliferation of single-use materials, try their debut product and chat with founder Dr. Gloria Schmitz later in the evening! The networking space fills with a mix of founders, operators, and ecosystem builders, each interaction offering the potential for something unexpected to take hold. Boston Climate Week is made possible by Climatech and Climatebase.

Throughout the evening in the Santo Domingo Room, you’ll find demo tables hosted by SeaAhead, Ceres, Sierra Club, Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, BATWorks powered by CIC, Pier 71, Terawatt, and more. There’s no formal start time or program – just stop by any table that catches your interest, ask questions, and get a closer look at the work happening across the climate ecosystem.

At 4 PM in the Havana Room, the focus begins with what it actually takes to make climate commitments credible. In a practical, inside look, Amalie Gøperød of CEMAsys explores the systems behind climate reporting, unpacking how organizations can move beyond reactive, last-minute efforts toward processes that are consistent, auditable, and built for long-term value. What does climate commitment look like for a startup? Join us to find out!

At 5 PM, in the Havana Room, Jeff Berman challenges how we think about sustainability messaging, digging into the fine line between resonance and noise. In what can sometimes be a slippery slope in ClimateTech, Jeff draws on how people actually pay attention, exploring why some ideas break through while others fade, and what it takes to build trust in a world quick to tune out anything that feels inauthentic.

At 5:30 PM, join Cambridge resident and engineer Nicolai Cauchy for an intimate roundtable that explores what it would realistically take to make green residential roofs more common across the region. Examine the structural, policy, and financial factors that shape what’s possible, and highlight resources, tools, and pathways available to homeowners and communities interested in reimagining their rooftops.

From 6 PM – 7:30 PM, we are delighted to welcome a special panel discussion in the Havana Room: “Built to Thrive: Designing Ecosystems for Climate Tech Innovation”, bringing together leaders from BATWorks, SeaAhead, Sierra Club, Ceres, and Pier 71 for a panel discussion on where climate tech and sustainability innovation are actually taking shape. Moving beyond theory, the conversation explores how ecosystems, from Boston to New York to global hubs, are being intentionally built to support founders, accelerate collaboration, and move solutions from early momentum to real-world impact. It’s a closer look at the environments, partnerships, and networks that are shaping the future of climate innovation, and why those conditions matter now more than ever.
